My brother was hit in the face with shrapnel from a bomb last week. He says he's fine. How do you answer? What questions do you ask?

It's so strange, when I'm talking to my brother, because all those questions seem stupid. They sound perfectly normal here, but on the phone, we just sort of skimmed over it. I think he wanted to.
I can understand that, that they suddenly seem stupid when you're talking to him... From what you've written of him, he sounds like he might not be too interested in answering questions of that nature.
